Battery discharging system
is designed
to record the discharge characteristic curves of dry cell batteries
in UM-1, UM-2, UM-3 and UM-4 sizes.
The battery discharging system consists of four main components.
They are User Interface Terminal; Data Acquisition Unit; Digital
Output Unit and Battery Panels.
The terminal is the main controller of the whole system. It enquires
measurements from the Data Acquisition Unit and controls the discharge
cycle through Digital Output Unit. Reporting and trending can also
be done in the terminal.
The battery panel is the holding fixture of the system. Each battery
panel consists of gold plated mounting fixtures that able to hold
up to 20 batteries. The fixtures connect the batteries to the panels
discharging resistors. This allows the Data Acquisition Unit to
measure the voltage drops across the resistors.
